Landscape photography, for me a fairly new branch in photography. Regarding the taking of the photo, not comparable with other branches of photography. In general, the moment of action it takes place at that moment and needs to be photographed.
With landscape photography you explore the environment, you search for the ideal composition, taking a photo quickly does not lead to beautiful photos.
“You don’t take a photograph, you make it.“
– Ansel Adams
“The best camera is the one that’s with you.“
– Chase Jarvis
‘Photography allows you to learn to look and see. You begin to see things you’d never payed attention to.’ ~
In the penultimate week of November 2019 I had a week off. On my second day, Tuesday, November 17, I went to the Southern Rand Park, about 15 minutes by bike from where I live. It is a beautiful area where a number of wooded recreational areas and connected to each other.
The eye-catcher in this 15-kilometer stretch is the Pendrecht mill, built in 1731, and moved in 1993 from its original location to the Southern Rand Park.
Landscape photography in a metropolis, in my hometown Rotterdam, is part of this series in my project of landscape photos. Not only tall buildings, many cars on motorways, overcrowding etc. are related to a global city. Enjoy the beauty of the urban green landscape.
